A Modern Spa Retreat
Sometimes life demands a spa weekend with your best friends. When it does, Two Bunch Palms in Desert Hot Springs, California is just the place. A private hideaway, popular with celebrities and those seeking a healing, secluded escape, Two Bunch is the oldest hot mineral springs resort in the country. Close to Palm Springs and popular Joshua Tree National Park, Two Bunch is a fantastic option when visiting the area. The Resort also offers a number of different packages, from all-inclusive to simply lodging, depending on how much time you plan to spend onsite. Personally, they had me at discrete hideaway and healing waters, so I booked a ticket to LA, and off to the desert we went.
Now I don’t ever visit LA, even for just an hour, without at least one meal at SUGARFISH. So that’s what I did- I demanded a detour and went straight from the airport to enjoy the best sushi in North America before braving Friday afternoon traffic in Los Angeles.
The ride to Two Bunch from LA shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours and the scenery along the way is quite spectacular. However, if you’re short on time, you can always fly directly into Palm Springs.
We arrived at Two Bunch in time for dinner, just as the sun was setting. The view was wonderful!
The next few days were exactly what we had hoped, relaxing, energizing, and peaceful. We started every morning with a hike, either on site, or at nearby Joshua Tree. Which was the perfect excuse to enjoy a daily massage!
Later in the day we would linger at the spa or the grotto, a natural hot spring pool located in the middle of the property. The water is said to have healing powers, and at the very least is very relaxing. I also enjoyed my first mud bath while at Two Bunch, which was an experience for sure!
When you aren’t busy hiking, or enjoying the Spa, there is a beautiful pool to enjoy. I spent one afternoon with the entire pool to myself, talk about a peaceful, relaxing afternoon!
The restaurant at Two Bunch, where we had breakfast and lunch daily, is simply blissful. The view is incredible. The ambiance calming. It is the perfect place to cozy up to a warm bowl of oatmeal or fresh gazpacho, in your bathrobe! They also do a fantastic happy hour with sunset views, which we of course enjoyed daily. Two Bunch is the perfect combination of Relaxing Spa and luxury getaway.

Each of the 70 suites are sheltered by ancient palms and giant tamarisk trees, scattered throughout the 77 acre resort to guarantee privacy. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a huge backyard which included a fire pit and hammock.
I can’t say enough good thinks about Two Bunch Palms. A little off the beaten path, and definitely not your average “spa,” Two Bunch is the perfect place to stay when you head out near Palm Springs. I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, but also got to enjoy the local area and a great week with wonderful friends. If you are thinking of visiting the area, I highly recommend Two Bunch Palms.
